First Class Mail Last year in 2019, the First-Class letter rate increased by 5 cents to a new rate of 55 cents. Going into 2020, the First-Class letter rate of 55 cents will remain the same, and businesses utilizing First-Class letter metered postage , can also continue to enjoy the 2019 rate of 50 cents in 2020. The benefit of using letter metered postage is a 10% saving over using first class stamps. Postcard rates , which applies to individually mailed postcards 4.25? x 6? or smaller , will remain at 35 cents. International letters however will see an increase from $1.15 a piece to $1.20. The additional ounces charge for first class letters remains stagnant at 15 cents. Marketing Mail Marketing mail (also known as standard mail) rates will see little, to no changes with First Class Presort automated letters (42 cents) and Nonprofit automated letters (17 cents) keeping the same rate.
